CyberLink Releases PowerDVD 10 ULTRA 3D Mark II
CyberLink has announced the availability of PowerDVD 10 ULTRA 3D Mark II for the retail market in the United Kingdom.
The new box version will be on shelves at CyberLink's retail partner stores starting from this week and features a number of new upgrades such as Blu-ray 3D playback and the possibility to convert existing 2D DVD titles and 2D videos into a 3D movie experience.
This new PowerDVD version also includes an extra bonus which is a 3D DVD-trailer of the 2010 animated educational sci-fi adventure film Quantum Quest from the 3D computer animation company Digimax.
The box version of CyberLink PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II will also be available soon in retail stores worldwide in the following languages: English, German, Chinese (Traditional) and Japanese.

Skype Integrates New Facebook And Group Video Calling
The new version of Skype for Windows now lets Facebook users chat with their friends on the booming social network.
Skype has now integrated the Facebook News Feed and Phonebook into the software. The company has also revitalised the look and feel, making voice and video calling, instant messaging, screen sharing and file sharing easy to navigate. In addition, users can now bring even more of their family and friends together with the new group video calling feature available in open beta.
With Facebook integration, users can see their Facebook News Feed in Skype, post status updates that can be synced with their Skype mood message, comment and like friends, updates & wall posts, call and SMS their Facebook friends on their mobile phones & landlines and also make a free Skype-to-Skype call if their Facebook friend is also a Skype contact.
With the new version of Skype, users will be able to receive a free trial for group video calling in beta. Skype has added a dynamic group video calling view, which is easy to follow who's talking by moving the focus to the person speaking on the call.
The new version of Skype also introduces automatic call recovery which helps users reconnect calls that are interrupted due to Internet connection problems.
Plus, the call quality manager gauges audio and video quality during calls, helping users to resolve problems.
Finally, the new Skype Home features a feed of mood messages from users, contacts, and tutorials on everything from how to make a video call to how to sign up for a subscription.
Skype said video-calling accounted for approximately 40 percent of all Skype-to-Skype minutes in the first half of the year.

Microsoft Issued Critical Security Fixes Yesterday
Microsoft issued its biggest-ever security fix on Tuesday, including repairs to its ubiquitous Windows operating system and Internet browser.
Microsoft released 16 security patches to address 49 problems in its products. Four of them are marked as "Critical" and 10 are "Important," according to Microsoft's Security Bulletin Summary for October 2010.
The new patches aim to fix a number of vulnerabilities including the Stuxnet virus that attacked an Iranian nuclear power plant and other industrial control systems around the world.
The security patches correct vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Microsoft's Media Player Network Sharing Service, the Embedded Open Type Font Engine and the .NET Framework. These critical vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution.
The patches marked as "important" correct vulnerabilities in Safe HTML, the Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers, the the Open Type Font (OTF) Format Driver, Microsoft Word and Excel, in Windows Common Control Library, Windows Media Player, in COM Validation in Windows Shell and Word Pad, in Windows Local Procedure Call and in the Secure Channel (SChannel) security package in Windows.
